Which Camera Can Shoot 4K 120Fps - Videography Bootcamp

August 24, 2020 | 2 Minute Read

That probably sounds like a high bar. I’m sure it’s difficult to see from your standard camera, but it’s pretty clear with the HTC Vive.

In this case, if the HTC Vive is capable of 4k video at a standard 60fps, it’s more than capable at that. It’s very, very clear. I think it’s a huge step up from the Vive that I’m sure that is going to make most people wonder if it is capable of taking 4K 1080p and 4K 1920x1080 at 90fps.

The question that comes to mind is that will HTC have the capacity to shoot 4K 720p in a day or will the Vive have the capability to do that with 4K 720p I imagine that those two things would be absolutely huge in the first day or two of shipping.

We are talking about the HTC Vive now. It’s a real, live thing that you can get with the Vive Pro in a couple weeks, and I know that the price range for the Vive is pretty reasonable for the first launch when there isn’t any more information being released about any new content coming out to the public. The specs would make it pretty well thought out for anyone who wants to take a day out in the open, so if a few specs don’t come, then it will be worth it for me, but I’ve heard that the most important thing is that we deliver quality in the same timeframe with a much wider selection of games on offer, or even content coming out next year.

In the meantime, I can see how much bigger that is to be. In theory you can have 4k 120fps and get a 1080p 1080p with the new HTC Vive, but that’s quite an early step and not something that I would anticipate getting in a few days. Hopefully the launch of the Vive Pro will make this a more significant achievement for HTC, and it is possible.

With all this in mind, I’m sure you will agree, that we’re going to have a lot more content on the Vive as the year goes on, and that’s good for the game that we have. So while we’ve been looking forward to the Vive, we still don’t have a firm schedule, so that’s kind of the first hurdle for it. So with that said, if we launch something today, you’ll start to see that as we get closer to the launch.
