A man who was arrested in North London is facing up to three years in jail after he punched six people at a club after he was hit in the face.

The 32-year-old was arrested shortly after the punch to the face of 27-year-old Ryan Bevin.

Bevin, from Croydon, North London, was charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of disorderly conduct, a court heard.

Mr Bevin, of Whitehall Road, Dorset, denied breaking the peace and denied assaulting the three men.

Bevin was taken to North London Crown Court at 3pm yesterday. The defendant was later released on bail pending the outcome of appeal.

The court heard Mr Bevin’s family are poor, have no car and he has no previous criminal record.

He told the court he thought he would be released on bail and had plans set up for him in the next few weeks or months by friends.

Police said before his arrest on Saturday night officers were looking for him and were concerned if he had any connection.

It happened in front of our door, and they have told us about it, said spokesman Mark Wilson.

The suspect’s parents said they had nothing to do with him.

North London Police tweeted Charges laid against Ryan Bevin. He is currently in custody in North London Prison today.

Inquiries have found Mr Bevin’s sister Jocelyn had been arrested for assaulting the victim, who suffered a bruised ankle.
