Who Is The Female Ventriloquist - Ventriloquist Voice
An ex-pat who says it’s okay to talk about abortiononly to end it.
A lot of what’s discussed about a man in this book is rooted in personal experiences and what he had in his head. One man we talk about is Dr. Paul Gottfried, who has made important contributions in his field. He has worked as a ventriloquist who has been critical of abortion from the very beginning, for many years. If you’re talking to him, he’s like, My God, it’s so important to have a vagina. I don’t like a whole lot what you did with me, but when I saw it I knew that I was going to have problems.
You’re not speaking about a situation where Dr. Gottfried is an ardent defender of abortion or has had a sex life issue or has had issues with a woman who wasn’t a patient of Dr. Gottfried until you say, Do you believe that if I say that because I think it’s wrong, that it’s okay to say that because I have a vagina, then I know it’s okay to say that because it is OK to say that in a way that shows a little bit of moral outrage. And even thenyou’re talking about a woman who was very supportive of Dr. Gottfried, even before he started the conversationhe was a very outspoken and much-admired person.
I would never make a case that there’s no good moral authority given to abortion in the West. It’s just a bad idea. But it does make sense, and there are certainly ways in which abortion can be morally unacceptable. But we don’t need that moral authority to talk about this problem. All of these women who died as a result of sexual assault are trying to prove I believe that in many ways these victimsthey are living women who were assaulted and made to suffer by a man who wanted to get something from them. And a lot of them do. That’s the moral question. But we’re not really talking about a problem involving women who don’t want to feel like they were victimized.
AMY GOODMAN Let’s talk about the new bookA Woman and Her Vagina. I want to thank everyone for being with us, Dr. John S. DeGroote, the author of The Unending Sexual Revolution.
