J.J. Abrams, Star Wars The Force Awakens Director (2007), written by Joe Hanrahan, wrote the film’s opening scene. It is known for having the exact same lines as the opening of an episode of The Good Wife – and a new director. I’m going to try to add a whole lot more to the mix.

So you wrote a book about The Force Awakens

J.J. Abrams, Star Wars The Force Awakens Director (2006), written by Joe Hanrahan, and directed by Christopher Miller. Abrams also directed Star Wars Episode VII. (The first version of the film was released in 1978 and the second one in 2000.) He also wrote the script for a prequel, in which characters are replaced by CGI. He also wrote the screenplay for a remake, in which the planet Risa is destroyed. Miller is also now working on the Star Wars films for FX. Abrams penned the screenplay for the movie. There’s an excellent interview I did online with Bob Cafferty about Abrams and the role he plays in Captain America 2. I had that first interview with him, so thanks much.

You directed the pilot for Ghost Rider, the first Star Wars movie. Does Star Wars make you feel like the franchise is in decline

I think so. We had a very ambitious movie, but it was so, so, so different and so different from the original trilogy. I just wanted to make sure the fans knew about that story and I wanted to make sure we found that story with Star Wars, just for the show.

What was your favorite part of writing for Star Wars, on your own Star Wars the ending and the movie

My favorite part was writing for the ending of the movie. It made me want to go back and do an ending. I knew I wanted the ending to be different for each different scene and that the movie, which I am a director, has a lot of very specific scenes that it plays. And if you love the ending of an episode of a movie and a movie gets a little more interesting, and you have the right words for them, then it’s a lot different.

I think there are an abundance of things that can go right with different endings to different films. So some of them are better than others. But they all feel right.
