Not really, she said.

She leaned out of her chair to kiss her forehead with one hand. Her skin rippled as if it had been burning, a warm sweat rising from her feet. I’m fine, Anna, she said slowly, her lips brushing against her lips.

Mm. That’s great

There was a pause.

You’re fine, Anna, said Anna. The warm breath caught her and she opened her eyes.

Do you know you’ve heard of us

Um, no.

Anna turned, eyes widening when she felt the light in her heart melt away. She tried not to think of Anna.

When he reached up, the cold heat pressed against his face, and her skin was so cold that she could barely move.

I-Oh, cried Anna. It was a cry, but somehow she felt better, or at least, she felt more hopeful.

Anna pulled her arms up to her sides and kissed him on his chest, but her lips remained in the middle of her kiss.

I think I’m going to sleep here, she said softly, feeling how much that hadn’t made her feel anything.

Anna pulled her head down and kissed his skin again, to the point where Anna had to press her hand against his chest to make his head rise. He felt his chest tighten against her fingers and his skin started to become lighter under her touch.

Anna let her arms go and opened her mouth again and then she let her breath return into the room slowly, until she finally let out the last of her breath. She heard faint footsteps coming around the corner from somewhere upstairs, she closed her eyes and let out the last of her breath. It was a soft and comforting sound that filled the room and Anna was not sure what she just heard but she felt that feeling inside her.

Her thoughts were turning so quickly that she almost wanted to stop but when she felt her breath on her head, she looked up.

And then the words.

The words of ‘I’m so sorry I couldn’t do it’ were there in a warm, warm hand. They were comforting, like their own words if their own hearts could hear them. She could feel them.

There were soft, soft words and warm fingers.
