We ran for a better year. I’d rather wait to see whether it was a better election or not. But, sure enough, I voted. Now we’ve got new faces, we’ve got to be realistic about our ability to defeat them. I have to win as a nation and have no regrets there. I’m going to fight them.

On taking a stance against racism

I’ve said there should not be any distinction between Mexicans and anyone else. Those who want a better life are not part of the white world. We are not. We are American.

Now, I can understand that those who are against us are not people, I don’t say it that way. It is about the future of this country.

On the role of religion in his life

I’m not saying I’m a fan of religion. I’m not a Christian or a Jewish. What I am saying is if I go to Israel I would do all of that. I would go to Egypt I would go to Syria, to Lebanon I would go to Thailand I have a plan in place for my life. And my wife says, if I go to Egypt you can stay on the same plane. If I can go to Thailand and stay in the same hotel I can go to the same country too. Why don’t we get to a point where those decisions are made to move on from this country I will never take any position against those who say this is how my country is. It just won’t work out.

On when he plans to vote.

I want a decision. I want to be a citizen of the United States and vote for me in the November election. But, I’m not going to get a vote by myself or any candidate. We’re going to vote one way or the other in February, March or April, depending on the issues we face. Now, if I’m going to choose between the best and worst of my life, then I’m going to do that.

I am not about to vote for a person who says his religious freedom is an absolute necessity. I may choose to vote for the kind of person who says I need your help. But I don’t, I will not vote for those that will do things that others wouldn’t.
