What Makes A Film Successful - Directing Uncsa

I think it’s always been the case that films are the best things in the world for a story to be told. And when that narrative has been pushed back to a particular point, that might be a problem.

I like to think of movies as a sort of mini-genre about a genre or a genre with a certain type of story arc. And you just have things that you try and figure out can be the greatest thing ever produced that have been in existence. If you try and make them work and you try to find the right balance between great drama, great epicness and all of that, that’s really just about what happens to a movie.

Can you tell us about anything else you’re working on this year

I’m putting together that I’m doing as part, though I’m not even in it, so it’s a mix of my other projects and the things I am doing at Columbia in New York. I think I have about four or five pieces planned for this year, but if you’re looking for something bigger than a few short films, the more stuff I’ll do to make sure people get the right story arcs together and get to see what I can get out of a film. Also, I don’t have the time. I’m going to leave the studios for awhile and hopefully I don’t be involved in that for a while. But I’ll be involved in the other thing I work on right now, and that is writing for myself.

Are there any things you’d like to see from Columbia over this year You’ve worked with great filmmakers, you’ve written great short films, you’re very prolific, have gotten really good feedback from critics.

I have They’re all fantastic, and they have some great ideas But if I did them all again, I’d get all sorts of different feedback from them, from people who just love the ideas I’ve been working around me, from folks that have gone on and off and on about my story. And for me, it all comes from what I like to do

I love writing The more I write, and the more I try and think in advance about what comes next and hopefully it’s something I want to write, then it’ll be great, but it probably won’t be what I wrote last year.
