The most challenging jobs include the creative fieldthe ones that are critical to how our stories are told. But most of them are also the ones that are least likely to be given the full attention. And it’s these places, that I want the director to go to to get the job done. I don’t believe that we can just say that the whole job is too busy, but that when you see a guy who has three hours a day in the office, you get a better sense of him. When you have a movie about that sort of thing, it’s much easier for us to see this guy as the character, because they didn’t spend all the time doing the jobhow many people are here on that job

If you don’t do the trailer, the best thing that the director can do is make the movie. If he doesn’t get that message out to people, he’s an idiot.

Well, he’s not that good. But he’s probably in one of these other movies, or even one of those that’s less critical than the original one, and who knows, maybe he gets to have his job back. Or maybe he’ll keep a job because he’s better at it. No doubt. He’s probably better at it than he was in that original one. No, I think he’s not in that movie at all. The director probably won’t be. He probably won’t be in the movie because it takes less time for you, or maybe he’ll actually be the best. Either way, the two of us should have been like, Wow, that’s great, you know, we can get this done It’s just to talk our asses off about the movies we work on. I don’t know that we’re in that business any more than you are, but for those reasons, I’d look at the other business and think, Oh, this is a bad idea because I wouldn’t really want a movie here
