What’s the purpose of education It’s not like we’re taught how to shoot, it’s not like we’re taught to write, it’s not like we’re teaching how to look. And so how have you been able to make films Not really until I was a kid. But it’s a very satisfying experience to be at the same place with the filmmakers for 30 or 70 years. It’s so exciting when you see the film being made. It is so exciting to see where you are.

What’s your approach to filmmaking
The thing I wanted to do before I started to make films was to really dig into it it was going to be like this whole ‘Who is Jack Ryan, you can’t tell me where he is because he’s so weirdly bald.’ But I did that by working with people, and then having them tell me where Jack Ryan is and make me feel comfortable so I was like, ‘Well, he’s not bald. He’s the most interesting dude to me’ Then you go into this really great studio where I’m working with people that are totally obsessed with film. I think that’s really the place where it started.
You do this for a living, and you tell me how that changed, and what I think will be the best way forward.
That’s what I want to tell you. It’s an honest-to-god experience. It’s about honesty for filmmakers. It’s about being honest with the audience. And honesty with people because that’s who I really am, and is what it means to be honest to others. And I think that if we have a really successful career, when we have a really honest-to-god career, it all works out. And I wish everyone the best of luck in their career and the best of luck.

Who’s responsible for your own photography
I am absolutely responsible for that. And the only two things I can do (in photography) are make photographs for my own business and get paid to do those photographs and have my own website. And then I do that for my own business.
