I wouldn’t say we’re doing too much in the studio, but I know there are a lot of folks with a lot less than three years, and we can do a lot with that. It would be great if we made more of an effort this year, but it’s not impossible for other artists to make, especially to make a lot of those sort of projects.

It’s been great to be on this show for the past couple of years, because it’s such an intimate place. There are always surprises there, of course, but when you listen to it now, we’re all just like, Wow

You’ve already been nominated for four Oscars. How big has it gotten

Oh yeah They’ve said, You can actually tell which is which right now at the Oscars. You think it only took one week to get a nomination We’re all excited. Laughs Just having a chance is huge.

We’ve been really lucky in the last few years. I’ve been fortunate enough to work on projects that I’ve worked on at home, like our documentary about the Holocaust, and in a way I’m fortunate enough to play with some friends, and for them they help build the foundation, so I can be involved in something they’re excited about.

My friends have been very lucky. Just going to see you on the set of A Million Ways American Horror Story for six years doesn’t make you any less amazing, though.

When I was playing with the cast, my agent said, We’re talking with you about having the perfect time for the Oscar. It was literally a phone call from my agent, who said, You do great. She told me it was great. I actually got an audition for A Million Ways.

What’s your favorite thing about making music

I love the concept of all of the people behind it. I love that it’s about the people who, in that way, they’re not just the stars of A Million Ways being the greatest filmmakers, they’re being the first people to really really bring it to life.
