You’ll probably only know the director once you’ve made a motion picture in that setting. If you have to make a movie, you’ve got a lot of experience working with people who’ve been to that set yourself. And you’ve got to be able to move on, and that means you’ll be able to change the way that you present yourself. Then it becomes really fun to do it and to get to different things at what would be challenging and to have a different vision and to have other people get involved.

What are your thoughts around the possibility of bringing in motion pictures to the States for a film festival or other shows

That’s a good question, and I believe that we have a great opportunity here, and hopefully we can come up with something really interesting. A real creative thing with a great story, and I believe it’ll be wonderful that people are interested in seeing it. It’ll make a great show.

What else could you ask of Motion Picture Association of America president, Tom Hanks and his wife, Carrie Fisher

I’m really excited by all these possibilities. Tom does the work in our studio who makes the movies, and his wife, Carrie also does some of the great work of the other world. I also think it’s very exciting to me to be able to make a movie and to try some new things and not be distracted by what we’re doing, but still able to talk to our audiences while doing my work. There are a million things we could try, but I really want to try it and do it right and not make this stuff up. I look for great actors to be part of the movie that really has something to say that really resonates with people. I’ve found that the more they know, the more I can use them.

You are currently working on your film The Shape of Water which debuts on Dec. 20. How important is your work with the filmmakers and about that time frame to them

I don’t know for sure, but it would depend on all the different stages of it. I’ve got to figure out how to go from there. So far I’ve had to deal with the budget really well, the work is fantastic, and it just makes sense. That doesn’t mean that it’s going to be a perfect film. It just means that if you can get a movie that is really interesting and that is very different than what other people are doing now, it’s going to really do
