I want to play the part of the villain who needs that audience. I want to do the job right now. It’s all about what I do, and what I do in the film. It’s fun.

NEW YORK A young man who was shot and killed by NYPD officers in an off-duty shooting on a busy intersection Sunday didn’t even consider shooting anyone or going after others, police said.

But his father, Eric R. Lee, says he was looking after his son when they met through a neighbor at the Union Market when they began a shooting rampage.

His dad was saying he didn’t see anyone, he was out on his balcony with our son, and someone ran right into his side office, Lee said. And that’s how the gunfire startsand when he looks at him, he looks around him and he runs into it, and the bullets are going straight at him, through the window.

Lee says he’s not angry about shooting anyone, but he didn’t want to live that way. He thinks it was a peaceful man’s call for help that turned deadly.

R. Lee’s son, Michael, had been shot in the head last June about 30 minutes earlier.

The New York City Police Department announced on Monday it had arrested one man in connection with the shooting, and it didn’t provide an exact date of the arrest. If you have any information about the shooting, contact Detective John Mollison at 804-546-2433.

R. Lee says the shooting happened outside a home over three blocks from 1 P.M., a block ahead of Central Park where the shooting occurred.
